The mustard pot modelled as Mr Punch, typically seated with legs crossed, smoking a pipe held in his left hand and a wine cup in his right hand. The lid hinged at his crowned hat. The pepper formed as Judy sitting on a stack of 3 bound volumes, wearing a bonnet and taking a pinch of snuff from a box held in her left hand. The salt being Toby, their dog, cast in a seated pose on natural terrain wearing a ruff around his neck and a hat on his head.

The Richmond Race Cup

A superb Victorian race cup upon a triform base with large, curling, matted and leafy scrolls at each of the 3 projections and with graduated beads descending at the centre of each leaf. Each of the sides between the leaves with an oval cartouche. The first inscribed: “Richmond Meeting 1848” surrounded by further scrolls and leaves. The second inscribed: “Won by Ellerdale, Oct. (Octavius) Vernon Harcourts Esqr”. The third with: “Stewards, the Right Hon. The Earl of Zetland; R. M Jacques Esqr; M.Wyvill Jr Esqr.”
The fluted and bellied tapering stem wrapped in three cast and applied strands of matted leaves rising to a wide shallow bowl with slightly waisted sides. The latter superbly embossed and chased with a row of playful horses upon a textured ground resembling grass. The rim with a bold egg and dart border. Complete with original fitted wooden case. A Fine Charles II Sugar Box of Attractive Small Size

Raised on four cast scroll legs, the bellied sides embossed with sixteen upright flutes each flanked by narrow matted bands. The front with hinged open scroll and escutcheon clasp. The lid, also hinged, with central coiled serpent handle surrounded by an oval band of acanthus leaves upon a wide matted reserve and with twelve plain oval bosses.

An Extremely Rare Pair of Early George III Scottish Provincial Dishes

Each of circular shape with wavy flared edges and the centres engraved with a crest and motto "Follow Me". Both raised on a slightly spreading foot with vertical outer rim. The undersides engraved at a later date "Breadalbane". One dish with the makers' mark struck twice in addition to two stylised thistles, the other with one makers' mark and two thistles.
